Method

Self-assessment

What we tested

Automated testing with axe-core across every page of this site, plus manual keyboard-only navigation of all pages and the contact form. Contrast pairs were checked by calculation rather than by eye.

What we have not tested yet

Screen reader testing with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver is scheduled but has not been completed on this site. Until it has, we are not claiming this site works well with a screen reader — we are claiming it passes automated and keyboard testing, which is a smaller claim, and the accurate one.

Known issues

• Screen reader verification outstanding, as above. Target: 30 September 2026.
• Image slots on the “How it works” page are placeholders pending final artwork. Their descriptions will be written when the images are, and reviewed before publication.
• This statement will be regenerated from our remediation record once that system is live, so that it cannot drift out of date. It is currently maintained by hand.

What we have done deliberately

• Focus indicators are a double ring designed to hold at least 3:1 contrast against every background they can land on, and are never removed.
• The site ships no third-party JavaScript and no tracking. The only script is a 15-line menu toggle.
• prefers-reduced-motion is honoured throughout.
• Every page is operable at 320 px wide and at 200% zoom without loss of content.
• Typography is Public Sans, drawn for the U.S. Web Design System with legibility as the design brief.

Enforcement

If we do not respond adequately, you can contact the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division at ada.gov/file-a-complaint. Visitors in the EU may raise the matter with the enforcement body for their member state under the European Accessibility Act.
