AdaReady
About

A small team that fixes code.

AdaReady does accessibility auditing, remediation and monitoring. We are not an overlay company, and the distinction is the whole point.

Why we started this

We kept meeting businesses who had paid for an accessibility product, installed a script, and were still inaccessible — sometimes measurably worse than before. Some of them had been sued anyway.

The category has a credibility problem it earned. In January 2025 the Federal Trade Commission fined a leading overlay vendor $1,000,000 for marketing an automated widget as something that makes a website conform to WCAG. The order bars that claim, expressly or by implication, without evidence.

We think there is a straightforward business in doing the actual work and being honest about what it does and does not achieve. That is this.

How we work

We test the templates

A store with 10,000 URLs has about a dozen page types. We cluster, test a sample of each, and tell you how many pages every finding covers.

We fix the source

Changes go into your repository or your theme, reviewed with your developers. Nothing is patched at runtime, so fixes survive without us.

We write down everything

Every finding, date, change and verifying scan goes into an append-only record. Over time that becomes the most valuable thing we produce.

We say what we did not test

Coverage and method are stated in every report, including the parts we could not reach. A report that hides its gaps is not worth much.

Things we will not do

  • Tell you a script makes your website conform to WCAG.
  • Give you a certification, badge or shield. Nobody can issue one.
  • Publish an accessibility score. A single number invites exactly the implication the FTC order forbids.
  • Show you client logos we have not earned, or reviews we paid for without saying so.

Our own site’s accessibility statement is published, and it lists our open issues and what we have not finished testing. Read it — it is a fair sample of how we write about a client’s site too.

Talk to us.

A free scan is the easiest place to start, and there is no obligation attached to it.
